About this Site

This site was conceived and created by members of the Academic Professional Task Force Implementation Team* in order to build a stronger sense of community among University of Illinois academic professionals and to provide a rich set of opportunities for academic professionals to become more deeply engaged with campus and community life.

Designed as an information distribution center, the site provides a broad array of resources, including campus policies and procedures to tips and resources for maintaining work/life balance.

The site is maintained by campus academic professionals—in collaboration with the Provost’s Office—and is intended to evolve over time as colleagues offer suggestions for making it an even more meaningful and helpful professional tool. Please share your ideas and input using this form.

* Recognizing the critical role that academic professionals play in helping the University of Illinois to achieve its strategic goals, Provost Linda Katehi charged an Academic Professional (AP) Task Force to assess AP policies and practices and recommend actions for improvement. This task force completed their work in the Spring of 2008 and submitted “A Report on the Status of Academic Professionals (PDF).” The subsequent Provost-appointed Academic Professional Task Force Implementation Team was then charged with carrying out the report’s recommendations.
