Benefits Summary
Academic staff members on the Urbana-Champaign campus (and their families) are eligible for a wide range of benefits – from vacation and sick leave to comprehensive health insurance to a retirement program. However, it can get complicated – especially for new employees. Don’t worry. Help and information is available through a couple of different routes.
There is a centralized Benefits Service Center on campus with a staff dedicated to advising and assisting employees in choosing and using their health, dental and vision plan benefits.
Also, the Office of University Human Resources maintains a centralized Web resource called NESSIE (Net-driven Employee Self-Service and Information Environment) to offer advice and information on options and to allow employees to personally monitor and manage their own personal benefit packages. Employees will want to bookmark NESSIE and set up their account (login and password) information on the site.
