Community
The Illinois campus sits right in on the dividing line of the cities of Urbana and Champaign. And our involvement in the community doesn’t stop with geography.
Spend just a couple of years in Urbana or Champaign or one of the other small towns surrounding the campus and you’ll understand just how closely knit the Illinois community really is. You really may be riding the bus next to a Nobel Prize winner, standing in line for coffee with a world-renowned opera singer or attending school functions with the creator of the Insect Film Festival.
Here, campus and community really are inseparable. We work here. We play here. We live here. This integration of “town and gown” creates a unique community and offers many opportunities to get out, to get involved and to give back.
